Community Gender Activism

The Basics: I facilitate conversations and education on gender equality and gender-based violence with community leaders, youth, service providers, and the general population. I also help local organizations and government departments mainstream gender into medium- and long-term planning.

Timeframe: June 2012 – September 2015

Project Accomplishments:

  • I mainstreamed gender through statistical analysis and activity strategy into 3 annual District Comprehensive HIV/AIDS Plans.
  • I reached 2,488 youth and adult community members through anti-gender-based violence and gender equality interventions.
  • I trained 96 civil society and government leaders trained on gender mainstreaming and gender-based violence programming.
